Canadian NATO Intern of Chinese Origin Arrested on Espionage Charges

A Canadian intern of Chinese origin has been arrested on suspicion of spying while working at NATO's Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). The headquarters is located in Mons, Belgium, and serves as the operational command centre of the US-led defence alliance. The intern had gained access to one of NATO's most sensitive military facilities. The arrest raises fresh concerns about foreign intelligence infiltration within Western defence institutions.
