Calcutta HC refuses interim relief to TMC faction over Rs 440 crore frozen accounts

The Calcutta High Court has denied interim relief to a Trinamool Congress faction seeking access to three party bank accounts frozen by the Enforcement Directorate. The accounts, collectively worth Rs 440 crore, will remain inaccessible following the court's ruling. The court found no prima facie case to support the petitioners' request for relief. The ED froze the accounts as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering and dishonest financial transactions. The case is scheduled for its next hearing on August 26.
