Book borrowed from San Antonio library in 1943 returned 82 years later in Oregon

A library book checked out in 1943 from a San Antonio library was returned after 82 years, having traveled all the way to Oregon. The returned book came with a heartfelt letter from the borrower's family, describing the long journey it had taken over the decades. The family reached out to inquire about potential overdue fines, but the library had eliminated such penalties back in 2021. Despite its age, the book was found to be in remarkably good condition. It was briefly put on display at the library before being made available for sale.
