Kerala Consumer Commission Awards Rs 22,500 to Father Over Undelivered Diapers

A Kerala consumer commission ruled against courier firm Xpressbees after it failed to deliver a diaper order placed on FirstCry by a father. Despite the order being dispatched promptly, repeated delivery failures and inaccurate status updates resulted in the order being cancelled. Xpressbees could not produce any evidence of delivery attempts or customer refusal during the proceedings. The commission determined that the courier company was deficient in its service obligations. As a result, Xpressbees was directed to pay Rs 22,500 in compensation and litigation costs to the complainant.

India is developing a regulatory framework that would allow artificial intelligence agents to execute UPI payments without requiring human approval for each transaction. The proposed system, called the Unified Agent Protocol, would establish a standardized authorization mechanism for AI-driven payments. Initial use cases are expected to focus on low-value, recurring purchases such as groceries. The initiative aims to streamline everyday transactions by enabling AI agents to act on behalf of users. If implemented, the framework could position India as a global pioneer in autonomous, agent-based payment infrastructure.

The fair is held at the Guru Dronacharya temple in Dankaur and is marked by special religious festivities each year. Schools, including Shiv Nadar institutions, have already informed parents about the holiday.
