Blind Man and Guide Dog Escaped North Tower on 9/11 by Descending 78 Floors

On September 11, 2001, Michael Hingson, a blind man, survived the World Trade Center attacks with the help of his guide dog, Roselle. The dog led Hingson and his colleague David Frank down 78 flights of stairs from the north tower as the building collapsed around them. The pair navigated the chaos while firefighters moved in the opposite direction to assist others. Hingson and Frank successfully reached safety amid the devastation of the attacks. In the years that followed, Hingson found healing by publicly sharing his story of survival, trust, and teamwork.
