A Delhi consumer commission has ordered Mercedes-Benz India and dealer T&T Motors to pay a combined compensation of Rs 10 lakh to a buyer. The buyer discovered the discrepancy only when servicing records revealed an earlier registration date than expected. The commission ruled that withholding such information constituted an unfair trade practice. Mercedes-Benz India and T&T Motors were each directed to pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation.
