BJP's Bajwa says Congress out of Punjab 2027 race, unlikely to hold 18 seats

Punjab BJP leader Fatehjung Singh Bajwa has claimed that the Congress party is no longer a serious contender for the 2027 Punjab assembly elections. He expressed doubt that the party would even be able to retain its current 18 seats in the state legislature. Adding to the concern, some Congress leaders themselves have allegedly alleged that certain party members have made compromises with the ruling state government. Despite these claims, Congress officials have denied any internal factionalism and insist the party remains united ahead of the polls. Bajwa stressed that while unity is important, the party must distance itself from leaders seen as compromised.
