Bengal girl, 11, was drowned alive after assault, autopsy reveals

An 11-year-old girl in Baruipur, West Bengal, was allegedly raped and thrown into a pond while still alive, according to preliminary post-mortem findings. The autopsy revealed water in her lungs, indicating drowning as the cause of death, along with evidence of prior head trauma and severe injuries. Police have arrested a prime suspect in connection with the crime. Investigators are currently analysing CCTV footage from the area as the probe continues.
