Bengal CM Adhikari urges Durga Puja organisers to uphold Sanatani traditions

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has announced new guidelines for this year's Durga Puja celebrations. Organisers have been directed to follow original traditions and refrain from themes that could offend or harm cultural heritage. The state government has decided against holding an immersion carnival, replacing it with roadshows and a Mahalaya programme. A partial restriction on alcohol sales will also be in place, with liquor outlets shut on Ashtami.
