Andhra school chainsaw attack suspect may lose leg after police encounter

Hemanth, the accused in a chainsaw attack on two minor students at a school in Raptadu, faces possible amputation of his right leg. He sustained severe gunshot wounds during a police encounter after fleeing the scene. Police located him and fired during a confrontation that led to his injuries. One of the injured students has undergone complex surgeries and is recovering at a hospital in Bengaluru.
