useSyncExternalStore: Why Snapshot Identity and SSR Initial Values Matter

An external store can notify subscribers without changing what useSyncExternalStore renders, because the hook needs a snapshot that differs by Object.is. In this experiment, mutating the same snapshot object and notifying listeners left the screen showing 0, while replacing it with a new object updated the display to 2. Checking only whether a notification was sent therefore misses the difference. The test also covered hydration, where the client's initial read must receive the server's value, passed through window.__BOOTSTRAP__, even though the client store started with a newer value. The author notes that the experiment did not test rerenders from unrelated updates, the update loop caused by returning new objects on every read, or subscription performance at scale.

Both are free, and users can compare them side by side by slicing the same model. Running flow rate and pressure advance calibrations is advised before serious printing.

UIDAI Unveils Lighter Sub-AUA/Sub-KUA Route for Low-Volume Aadhaar Users

On 29 September 2026, UIDAI announced five initiatives at Aadhaar Samvaad in Kolkata, including a new LITE framework for Sub-AUAs and Sub-KUAs. Sub-AUAs and Sub-KUAs access Aadhaar services through an existing AUA or KUA, which handles Yes/No authentication and e-KYC respectively. The LITE framework is intended to simplify and speed up onboarding for entities with lower authentication volumes, including government and eligible non-government bodies. Under existing rules, AUAs and KUAs need UIDAI approval before appointing a Sub-AUA or Sub-KUA, and they remain jointly liable for compliance. The article notes that UIDAI has not yet released full details of the LITE route, so regulated entities such as lenders and fintechs are advised to prepare while awaiting clarification.
