Ram Temple Trust treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri has dismissed reports of his resignation amid an ongoing donation theft controversy at the Ayodhya temple. He estimated that stolen donations amount to approximately Rs 3 crore. Trust general secretary Champat Rai stepped down voluntarily, acknowledging his negligence in overseeing the matter. An Ayodhya court has extended judicial custody for eight individuals accused in the case. The Supreme Court has also issued notices in connection with the alleged misappropriation of temple funds.
