Airbnb bars hosts from requiring guests to do dishes, laundry and other chores

Airbnb is prohibiting hosts from including labor-intensive chores in their house rules for guests. The updated policy applies to reservations made on or after November 20th. Under the rules, hosts cannot ask guests to perform tasks requiring substantial effort or time, or work typically handled by a cleaner. Examples include washing and putting away dishes, though guests may still be asked to place used dishes in the sink. Guests also cannot be required to strip beds or start laundry loads, though some lighter requests may remain allowed.
