While public debate focuses on AI-driven job losses, a distinct set of new roles is quietly gaining traction on hiring platforms with real salaries and dedicated teams behind them. Six titles — RAG Engineer, AI Evaluator, AI Red Teamer, Synthetic Data Engineer, Human-AI Interaction Designer, and AI Product Manager — have emerged as legitimate career paths that barely existed before 2022. The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025 projects AI and related structural forces will create roughly 170 million new roles globally by 2030 while displacing around 92 million, a net gain of approximately 78 million jobs. However, analysts caution that this net positive hinges on workers successfully transitioning through retraining — a process that is costly, geographically uneven, and far from guaranteed.
