agentproto 0.4.0 Adds Workflow Runner, Durable Cron, and Agent Supervision Tools

The agentproto open-source agent management tool released version 0.4.0 on July 3, 2026, marking a significant shift from a simple launcher to a full supervision and orchestration platform. The update introduces a WorkflowRunner that supports ordered, concurrent stages with explicit barriers, output validation, cost ceilings, and a journal cache that replays unchanged steps to avoid redundant re-runs. A built-in cron scheduler now allows agent jobs to persist beyond terminal sessions, while a new wait primitive replaces error-prone polling loops for monitoring groups of agent sessions. MCP tools have been reorganized into named families to improve model tool selection across a large toolset, and a new in-process adapter eliminates the need for subprocess spawning in compatible environments. The release also fixes a long-standing hang issue in the ACP client where sessions appeared active but were silently stalled, and improves session liveness reporting and prompt-delivery error handling.
