Abandoned UK Power Station Site to Become Wetland Park by 2026

The former Rugeley Power Station site in England is being redeveloped into a wetland park aimed at restoring natural river ecosystems and boosting local biodiversity. The transformation is part of a larger mixed-use redevelopment plan that will also include residential units and community facilities. A dedicated walking trail will allow visitors to explore the newly created landscape of wetlands, meadows, and ponds. The park is expected to open to the public in September 2026.
