52 commands, 3 doors: the app, REST and MCP share one write path

My ticket tracker has three ways in: the web app, a REST API and an MCP server. Every write from all three goes through the same 52 commands, and the Firestore rules deny everything else. It costs 150 to 400 ms a write where a direct client write takes about 50 ms. I'm Panth, and I lead the software team at Oizom. The tracker is ticket-tracker, my open-source board where coding agents work tickets next to people.

Give a Jira workflow rule a memory that survives, without blowing the prompt budget

Give a Jira workflow rule a memory that survives, without blowing the prompt budget Key takeaways END STATE: a workflow rule that accumulates lessons about YOUR instance across runs, injected under a byte cap you can prove holds, with duplicates folded in rather than appended. Cap the prompt block in UTF-8 BYTES, never in string length. Measured: a Japanese memory block was 95 bytes for 53 characters — a char-based cap overshoots the budget by ~1.8x, and up to 3-4x for pure CJK. Jaccard at 0.85 is a HIGH bar. Two sentences a human reads as identical scored 0.733 and did NOT merge.

DawaaiDost: a 4B open model that reads doctor shorthand so my grandparents never take the wrong pill

This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Weekend Challenge: Build for a Friend 💊 DawaaiDost (दवाई दोस्त) Every week, my 74-year-old grandmother holds up a prescription slip or a medicine blister foil with the exact same confused look: "Beta, yeh Dolo khane ke baad leni thi ya khali pet? Aur yeh BP wali goli subah ki hai ya raat ki?" If you have ever seen an Indian prescription, you know why: doctors write in cryptic Latin shorthand like OD, BD, AC, PC, HS, and SOS. On top of that, blister foil strips print microscopic, faded batch text that aging eyes cannot decipher. Commercial healthcare

span-01 vs mercury-decide: same score, opposite failures

span-01 vs mercury-decide: same score, opposite failures Last time I tested a "decision model" — a model that takes a plain-language question about a text and answers with a probability — as a gate for keeping Japanese narration free of English words. That article is here: Is regex enough? I tested span-01 on mixed-language text Code and measured data: / span01-eval span01-eval Evaluating prompt-defined "decision models" (span-01-lite, mercury-decide) as a language gate — against a plain regex and a generic chat model — with every number recomputed from saved JSON artifacts.
