Mohammad Shariful Islam, the Bangladeshi national accused of stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, has approached a court expressing willingness to plead guilty. Islam also requested leniency from the court in connection with the case. The court directed the prosecution to file its response and adjourned the hearing to a later date. Charges against Islam have been framed under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The case stems from an incident in which Khan was repeatedly stabbed by an intruder at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai.
